The Student Union of University of Eastern Finland’s Executive Board announces that grants for the year 2019 can be applied for. The decision was made in the Executive Board’s meeting on 10.10.2018. The organisation grants are divided into general and project grants.
General grants are meant to be used to support and maintain activities while using other means to raise funds. General grants can be applied for by student organisations and campus organisations.
Applications must be submitted electronically on the General Grant Application form no later than 04.11.2018 at 23.59. The application should come attached with the organisation’s financial statement from the previous year approved by the organisation, as well as a budget for the current year unless they have already been delivered to the Student Union. All the attachments must be sent by email to Specialist (Organisational Affairs) (Kuopio) or to Secretary for Recreation and Sports Affairs (Joensuu). Late applications will not be taken into account.
The Executive Board of the Student Union will decide upon the distribution of the grants in November, and they will be distributed in February.
The General Grant Application form
Project grants are intended for Student Union organisations of all sizes to support projects financially alongside organisations’ own funding and possible external funding. Project grants can be granted only for those organisations where at least half of the members are members of the Student Union.
Projects grants are distributed twice a year: in autumn and in spring. Project grants can be applied for purposes such as printing quotas, organisational publications, events and Student Union facility rents. In 2019, projects promoting equality, internationality and teamwork of student organisations are emphasized when choosing the beneficiaries. Application shared by organisations works as a proof of a teamwork. The Student Union favors projects that are environmentally friendly, non-alcoholic and furthers healthy lifestyle and students’ working life skills. If food or drink is served, we require favoring Fair Trade products.
When Student Union is distributing the money, the priority order will be student organisations, clubs and lastly other campus organisations.
Applications for spring semester 2019 projects have to be submitted electronically on the Project Grant Application form no later than 04.11.2018 at 23.59. The application must have a project plan attached which includes the project’s budget. All the attachments must be sent by email to Specialist (Organisational Affairs) (Kuopio) or to Secretary for Recreation and Sports Affairs (Joensuu). Late applications will not be taken into account.
Once a project has been completed, the group receiving the grant is obligated to deliver a report of the project to the Student Union. If a group neglects to report their project or send their contact information to the Student Union, they will not be able to apply for or receive any other grants. The grants has to be used by 31.5.2019.
The Student Union Executive Board decides the allocation of grants during November.
