ISYY Representative Council Meeting’s Decisions 2/2024

The Representative Council of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) held its second meeting of the year on Thursday 11 April 2024. In their meeting ISYY Council, e.g. decided on the financial report 2023. 

ISYY Council accepted the financial report 2023 and discussed the annual report 2023 given by the Executive Board. In the meeting ISYY Council overviewed the auditor’s report on the financial statement and decided on granting discharge from liability for the accounts. ISYY Council granted the discharge for last year’s actors, meaning the ISYY Board and Secretary General. The financial report is published in Finnish on the ISYY website Documents section, Yearly Documents > Financial Statements.

Additionally, ISYY Council made a decision according to the motion of the ISYY Board, that ISYY will resign from ESN Finland. ESN Finland is a national student organisation working towards international students and mobility. Previously ISYY had ESN activities on both of our campuses, but during the last years only on the Joensuu campus.

The board of ISYY club Joensuu's Exchange and International Students (prev. ESN Joensuu) agrees that leaving ESN Finland would serve the interests of both the club and international students. ISYY Board sees that leaving ESN Finland will not have a substantial effect on the club’s core activities or the club’s ability to provide services for ISYY’s international students. Moreover, the club's activities will be significantly less complicated when operating under only one organisation, ISYY.
