On the same date with Campus Happening and City Orienteering, 7 September 2023, ISYY is organising a painting event at the campus area in Kuopio from 12 pm to 6 pm. At the event students of the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) will paint an artwork to the underpass that goes below the Savilahdentie at the crossroads of Savilahdentie and Neulaniementie.
Happiness in the tunnel -painting event works in cooperation with the Valon kaava -project implemented in Savilahti in the city of Kuopio. The University of Eastern Finland and ISYY have also been involved in planning the event. The goal of the Valon kaava -project is to arouse interest in observing one’s surroundings and to create life in Savilahti all day and all year round. Thanks to the cooperation, students of Savilahti will also get to influence the environment by bringing out their own handprints.
During the event students of UEF will paint an artwork designed by an artist Veera Launonen. The artwork celebrates the community spirit of our university community and the cooperation across the study fields and also emphasizes the joy created by cooperation and working in a group. The painting will represent goals that can be accomplished with cooperation for our future students, scientists and citizens. According to Launonen, working together and networking strengthens faith in support and helps prepare for the challenges ahead.
First hundred participants will receive a unique ISYY painting event overall badge! All UEF students are warmly welcome to join the painting. More info about the event can be found from the event page (link below).
