Welcome to the University of Eastern Finland (UEF)! You have a made an excellent choice. Upon registering at the university, you have the wonderful chance of becoming a member of The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY). ISYY warmly welcomes all its 2 000 freshmen into its multidisciplinary and lively student community.
Our student union is a community of 12 000 members, whose rights we advocate both locally and nationally as our primary mission. We engage in active dialogue with the university and all our campus cities bringing forth the students’ opinions and views on matters concerning us, such as educational and social policies.
ISYY also organizes events, activities and services for its members and is home to several clubs, which are open to all students. The fall events start off with the traditional City Orienteering and include for instance the Well-being week on week 41 as well as the Sports Day on 7.10.
