Send us your video for a chance to win a 500 euro gift card to Rajala Pro Shop

The National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) and the student unions participating in the student unions’ Development Cooperation Theme Week (AYY, HYY, ISYY, JYY, LYY, OYY, Tamy and TYY) are now looking for a development cooperation inspired video.

You can use your pocket camera or a cell phone to record a video that inspires students in your field of study to participate in development cooperation. Film a max one minute video that connects your field of study to the developing countries, triggers inspiration, has a message or simply raises thoughts.

Send your video by email to your student union’s The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) coordinator for development cooperation Hanna Hylkilä (hanna.hylkila@gmail.com) by 16:00 on Friday 20 September. Include a short description of the video and how it connects your field of study to development cooperation issues. Each student union will choose three of their best videos to the finale. The student unions will select their finalists by Monday 30 September. The winner will be announced on the first day of the Development Cooperation Theme Week, Monday 7 October.

All videos will be uploaded on YouTube. The student unions will publish all videos sent by their students on their own Facebook page for the theme week. The finalists will be published on the official website of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL).

The winner will be awarded a 500 euro gift card.

By submitting your video to the competition, you grant the student unions and SYL permission to use your video in connection to the Development Cooperation Theme Week, its events and campaign information. You also grant the student unions and SYL permission to use the video in further events. Whenever the material is used, it will be credited to the original author of the video (either your name or signature, however you like).
