The working term of the current student representatives in the administrative organs of the University of Eastern Finland expires on the 31st of December 2017. The working term of the next student representatives begins on the first of January 2018 and ends on the 31st of December 2018. It is a statutory duty of the student union to appoint student representatives in the university organs.
The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland calls for eight (8) student members and for them, eight (8) deputy members to the University Collegiate Body of the University of Eastern Finland.
The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland calls for two (2) student members to the Executive Board of the University of Eastern Finland.
The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland calls for:
Four (4) student members and for them, four (4) deputy members to the Faculty Council of Faculty of Health Sciences;
four (4) student members and for them, four (4) deputy members to the Faculty Council of Faculty of Science and Forestry;
four (4) student members and for them, four (4) deputy members to the Faculty Council of Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies and
five (5) student members and for them, five (5) deputy members to the Faculty Council of Philosophical Faculty.
For the position of a student representative of the university can be chosen an attending student that has a right to graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master of Science academic degree or Licentiate or Doctoral post-graduate degree in the University of Eastern Finland. Person that is employed by university over 50 percent is not allowed to apply for a position in a student group to the university organ.
Application can be made electronically by filling the electronic form.
Applications can also be delivered written to the student union offices in the campuses of Joensuu, Kuopio and Savonlinna.
The application must be returned at the latest on 21th of September at 12.00 am. Applications that are overdue will not be processed.
Applications will be processed by the selection team appointed by the student union and the selections will be made by the Representative Council of the student union in their meeting on the 29th of September 2017.
Applicant that has applied to the Executive Board may be invited to the meeting of the Representative Council. The meeting is set up in Savonlinna, on the 29th of September 2017.
