The Student Union of University of Eastern Finland’s Executive Board announces that grants for the year 2017 can be applied for. The decision was made in the Executive Board’s meeting on 26.10.2016. The organisation grants are divided into general and project grants.
General grants for the year 2017
General grants are meant to be used to support and maintain activities while using other means to raise funds. General grants can be applied for by student organisations and campus organisations.
Applications must be submitted on the General Grant Application form at the Student Union office no later than 21.11.2016 at 12.00. The application should come attached with the organisation’s financial statement from the previous year approved by the organisation, as well as a budget for the current year unless they have already been delivered to the Student Union. Late applications will not be taken into account.
The Executive Board of the Student Union will decide upon the distribution of the grants in December, and they will be distributed in February.
The General Grant Application form can be found in English on ISYY’s Documents page.
Project grants for projects organised in the spring semester 2017
Project grants are intended for Student Union organisations of all sizes to support projects financially alongside organisations’ own funding and possible external funding. Project grants can be granted only for those organisations where at least half of the members are members of the Student Union.
Projects grants are distributed twice a year: in autumn and in spring. Project grants can be applied for purposes such as printing quotas, organisational publications, events and Student Union facility rents. In 2017, projects promoting wellbeing and physical activity are emphasized when choosing the beneficiaries. The Student Union favors projects that are environmentally friendly, open for everyone and encourage multidisciplinarity. If food or drink is served, we require favoring Fair Trade products.
When Student Union is distributing the money, the priority order will be student organisations, clubs and lastly other campus organisations.
Free-form applications for spring semester 2017 projects have to be submitted on the Project Grant Application form at the Student Union office no later than 21.11.2016 at 12.00. The application must have a project plan attached which includes the project’s budget. Late applications will not be taken into account.
Once a project has been completed, the group receiving the grant is obligated to deliver a report of the project to the Student Union. If a group neglects to report their project or send their contact information to the Student Union, they will not be able to apply for or receive any other grants. The grants has to be used by 31.5.2017.
The Student Union Executive Board decides the allocation of grants during December.
The Project Grant Application forms can be found in English on ISYY’s Documents page.
