ISYY’s Joensuu and Kuopio campus offices hand out free bread weekly to students. At the Kuopio office Lukema, bread is available on Tuesdays starting approximately 9 am. At ISYY’s Joensuu office Haltia, bread is in most cases available on Wednesdays around noon. The Joensuu office is closed on Wednesdays, but students can pick up bread from outside the office.
The bread handed out comes from super markets, bakeries and restaurants. The bread’s best before date has expired and according to law, it cannot be sold but may be handed out. Volunteers will collect the bread and supply it to specified distributors.
