As from 1 January 2016, all Bachelor’s theses, Master’s theses, licentiate theses and doctoral dissertations completed at the University of Eastern Finland shall undergo an originality verification performed by using the electronic plagiarism detection system.
In addition to verifying the originality of the above-mentioned academic theses, the system can also be used for verifying the originality of other written assignments and research articles. When doing a written assignment, the student can choose to verify the originality of his or her work by using the electronic plagiarism detection system. The originality verification report can only be seen by the student and it will not be sent to the student’s teacher/supervisor.
Student and Learning Services offers staff members user support and training on the use of the system. Contact persons in charge of the use of the system will be appointed for each faculty.
