Working in Finland is an interesting but not a widely discussed topic for international students. What is it like working as an international student or graduate in Finland? How easy or difficult has it been? What should an international student or graduate consider when applying for a job? You are welcome to share your experience with other international students in a panel discussion organised in English!
ISYY's International Team is organising a panel discussion during UEF's International Week. The panel discussion will take place on Monday 21 October from 5 pm to 7 pm at Joensuu campus’ auditorium M103. The theme of the panel discussion is "Working Life in Finland", and the discussion will be conducted in English. The panel discussion will be held only at campus.
We hope to have panellists that are either international students or graduates, and have gained work experience in Finland and have preferably studied at a Finnish university. The panellists will share their experiences related to working life, studies, and the job seeking process in Finland. Make sure to secure your spot in the audience or as a panellist by registering in advance!
The panel discussion is a moderated conversation that brings people together to discuss a specific topic in front of an audience. The topic of this panel discussion is “Working life in Finland”. The goal is to create a meaningful environment where the panellists can share their valuable experiences and insights about working life in Finland with the audience. The themes of the discussion will cover experiences in Finnish higher education and working life, as well as career opportunities after graduation. Volunteer panellists are welcome to share their personal experiences, such as their alumni stories or how they ended up in Finland, and share tips for finding employment in Finland.
ISYY’s international team will moderate the discussion and ask questions related to the themes. The moderator will make sure everyone gets time to answer and describe their own experiences openly! In the end, the audience may ask questions from the panellists.
Binding registration is open on Google Forms for both - panellists and audience from 30 September until 16 October at 23:59. Audience attendance is meant for all ISYY members who want to come to listen about other internationals’ experiences in Finland.
