Tour de Itä-Suomi is a cycling event in Joensuu and Kuopio organised by the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY). The event is held twice already in autumn 2021 and 2022. This year the event will be held in Kuopio on Saturday 16th September and in Joensuu on Sunday 17th September.
This year there are two route options. The longer route is approximately 122 km and it goes around the lake Pyhäselkä through Liperi. The shorter route is approximately 44 km and it goes from campus to Kuorinka beach and back. More detailed information about the route options will be updated to this site. The start and finish of both routes are located on campus near the ISYY office (Haltia). The start and finish address: Yliopistokatu 7, 80100 Joensuu.
Start times:
Finish will close at 5 pm.
Tour de Itä-Suomi is not a competition. Speed is not important, finishing the route at your own pace is. There is one service station on the route. Service car will help you with small bike related issues and with more severe problems, the service car will evacuate you and your bike back to the start/finish area.
Bring your own bicycle, bicycle helmet and sunny attitude. Participants are not insured but a first-aid team is on standby during the event.
The registration fee for the cycling event is 5€ for ISYY members and 15€ for everyone else. Registration for the event starts on Kide.app on Friday 1st September 2023 at 10 am.
