Memorial service due to the school shooting in Vantaa on April 5th from 11:15am to 12:30pm

A memorial service will be held in Kuopio and Joensuu on Friday 5 April from 11.15 am to 12.30pm. The purpose of the service is to show support to the victims of the shooting incident in Vantaa. A quiet moment starts at 11.15 am. Sanna Kauppinen, a chaplain for young adults, and a study psychologist Mari Tirronen will be participating in the event in Joensuu. The campus pastor Satu Karjalainen and career counselor Janne Saarela will be joining in the event in Kuopio. Students will have the opportunity to discuss feelings caused by events and deal with the incident together with trained personnel. There is also a memorial table where you can bring a candle or something else small to honor the memory of the victims. The event is organised by the University of Eastern Finland and the information to students is provided by ISYY. All the students are welcome to join events on both campuses. Both events are non-religious and all students are welcome.
