The 14th Annual Celebration of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) will be held 15 March 2024 in Joensuu, Sokos Hotel Kimmel. We warmly welcome all ISYY members and friends of ISYY to celebrate our Student Union.
The Cocktail Reception for invited guests starts at 4:00 pm on Friday 15 March 2024 at University of Eastern Finland, Carelia Lobby (Yliopistokatu 4). If you want to give a greeting at the reception, please mention this in the registration form dedicated to the invited guests. There will be a bus carrying guests from the Cocktail Reception to the Annual Celebration.
The Annual Celebration will be held in Sokos Hotel Kimmel (Itäranta 1), Penttilä Hall, starting at 6:00 pm. Entrance from the Las Palmas doors. Cloakroom of Las Palmas is in use of our guests and it opens at 5 pm. Please arrive at least half an hour beforehand (5.30 pm) so we may start on time. The lobby bar will be open to serve guests already before the dinner.
The official afterparty will be held in Kimmel’s Las Palmas until 4.30 am. Performing artist of the night will be Brädi. We'll be heading there at 11:30 pm. Admission to the afterparty and cloakroom service are included in the event ticket.
The price of the dinner card is 100 euros for ISYY members and 125 euros for other guests. For the dinner there are three main course options available: fish, duck and vegan.
The dress code for the Annual Celebration is white tie or dark suit with academic decorations (e.g. medals, ribbons).
On Saturday 16 March 2024, we will gather for the traditional academic herring breakfast, affectionately known as "sillis," from 12 pm to 5 pm at Tiedepuisto Joensuu (Oasis Sauna and Serendipity Café, 4th floor). The address is Länsikatu 15. Herring breakfast is included in the price of the dinner card. Transportation back to Kuopio departs from Tiedepuisto at 17:00.
For those who are coming to our Celebration from Kuopio, we are offering a bus transport to Joensuu on Friday 15 March and back to Kuopio on Saturday 16 March after the Herring Breakfast. This transport is included in the price of the dinner card.
On the day of the Annual Celebration the bus will transport our guests from the Cocktail Reception (UEF, Carelia) to the Annual Celebration (Sokos Hotel Kimmel). The bus will be waiting for our guests right after the reception in the parking lot located in front of the UEF Aurora-building. If needed, the bus will drive the route twice.
The bus leaves from Kuopio on Friday 15 March at 1 pm and From Joensuu on Saturday 16 March at 5 pm. More detailed information on the transportation will be updated to this page later and the info will be given via email to those who has registered to the transportation.

The registration for ISYY members will open on Thursday 1 February 2024 at 12:00 noon. Registration is done via the electronic form below. (NB! Invited guests, please use the link stated in the invite.)

Please use separate forms for each guest (e.g. for you and your avec). Registration is binding and we will send a confirmation message with information regarding billing to the guests. The registration will be closed on 15 February 2024.
