Students of UEF and Karelia UAS will face eachother in a Winter Classic hockey match in Joensuu 16.1.

The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) and SYKETTÄ Joensuu are organising the popular student’s Winter Classic hockey match on Tuesday 16 January 2024 at Mehtimäki Baseball Stadium. 

Come experience the popular outdoor hockey match! In the Winter Classic students of the University of Eastern Finland and Karelia University of Applied Sciences will face eachother in an exciting hockey match! Come watch and cheer your favourites for the win with a hundred other spectators.

The match has free entrance. Tickets via Kide.app are used to estimate the number of spectators and spectators are let in in the order of appearance.

Event supporters are the city of Joensuu, University of Eastern Finland, Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Regional Council of North Karelia and many more!

Initial Schedule:

• 16:30 Gates are open
• 17:15 Teams and referees warm-up
• 17.50 Ceremonial puck drop
• 18.00 Game starts
• 21.00 Event ends
• 22.00 After Party at Bar Play

There will be a competition and shows for the spectators before the game and during the breaks. The official limited edition Winter Classic 2024 overall patch is on sale at the kiosk and before the event via Kide.app. 

Joensuun Kiekko-Pojat will have kiosks with some snacks at the event. We will also arrange a raffle for the support of Icehearts ry.
