The Advance Voting begins 31 October and the last chance to vote is the Actual Election Day 8 November 2023. Hello! Wellbeing Week is behind us, but the health promotion is not going to be on hold for the next 51 weeks. We make choices every day related to our own wellbeing. Wellbeing is not a sprint. Our choices are not only about promoting our wellbeing, but also about maintaining it. The important thing is to want to feel good every day. Let's try our best to accept the feeling of unfinished - the world is not finished, so we don't have to be either <3 With these deep thoughts, I wish you a great week!

Autumn holiday week 16.10. - 22.10.  

SYKETTA Kuopio will have the autumn holiday week from October 16th to 22nd and instructed group classes on break. The ball games are mainly as usual, but there is no Ice hockey shift on Monday 16th of October. Gyms are open as usual.

University students' own student series FCAA arrives in Kuopio!

Kuopio's economics team Hc Preemio meets Lappeenranta's college team Parru Ht's student series in the FCAA, where 17 teams from 9 different cities compete for the Finnish championship. The regular season includes 4 matches per team and the series culminates in the final tournament next spring.

Taekwon-Do basic course!

The Taekwon-Do of the University of Eastern Finland organizes a basic course in Kuopio again. The course is intended for students and staff of the University of Eastern Finland and Savonia-AMK. You can register for the course on 13.10. until, and before then you can try the sport by coming to our club's training sessions.

Course training times:

• Tuesdays 16:30-18:30, Snellmanian tatami
• Thursdays 17:00-19:00, Studentia /field 3

Participation in the course requires a valid Sykettä sticker. The fee for the basic course is €20 + the association's license fee, which is €11 for the rest of the year.

Gym start course starting Mon 23.10.

In the gym start course, you will learn the technique of gym equipment and get tips for movements performed with free weights. The goal of the course is to be able to train independently in the gym after the course. In addition, you get a gym program that helps independent training.

The course includes five meetings. When you sign up for the first time of the course, you sign up for all four times. Welcome!

The duration of the course is five hours and takes place on Mondays: 23.10., 31.10., 6.11., 13.11. ja 20.11. Enroll via sports calendar

Basics of Acrobatics 29.10-19.11.

If you ever wanted to learn basic acrobatics, ex. handstand, headstand and flips, now is your chance! I have over ten years experience in gymnastics and I am happy to share my expertise with you! This course is aimed for beginners, but I can also provide guidance to hard exercises for advanced students. The course is 29.10-19.11. on Sundays 3pm to 4 pm (4 times) at Käsityökatu 41, Kuopio. Fee is 15€, paying at the first class with cash, Max 15 participants

In this course we will practice floating, gliding, diving, breathing techniques and basics of freestyle and backstroke swimming. Notice! You must have basic swimming skills (swimming 50-100 meters) to participate in technique course 2.

UEF Career Services' courses

Hey student, have you been thinking about your career and future? Guidance and new realizations are available here at UEF Career Services!

We have two courses available this fall: Job seeking practical exercises (1 ECTS) and Career planning practical exercises (1 ECTS). On these courses you get to develop your skills as a job seeker with the guidance of our skilled career counsellors. This is a great opportunity for you to think about your future and get proper guidance in a small group.

Both of these courses have 15 hours of small group work on Teams. The registration is open for all UEF students. The job seeking / career planning self-study courses are recommended as prior studies.

The registration is now open on Peppi! Maximum 12 students per small group. Welcome!

Wine & Paint

Kamrats (ISYY club) is back with another familiar event from the past in the form of Wine & Paint. It’s your chance to enjoy artistic freedom with some snacks and wine at a student friendly price. You can let your creativity loose and forget about your studies for a while. Wine & Paint will be organized at Lukema on the 16th of October from 18.00 onwards. You can continue painting and enjoying the company all the way until 21.00.

The purpose of the event in all its simplicity is to paint and enjoy some wine on the side if you so wish. We also have arranged a guide onsite to help with different methods, so you don’t need any prior knowledge about painting. Alongside that, our guides will arrange small workshops about using different techniques that you can partake in during the evening.

The ticket includes all the painting supplies you need for the evening like acrylic paint, paint brushes and paper. On top of that we serve some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, whichever suits you the best and some snacks. If you want you can also bring your own snacks, drinks and painting supplies.

All this for the meager price of 8 euros! Now is your chance to really let your creativity free, so it’s time to put your shopping pants on and get ready to buy some tickets.

Appro, often translated as bar crawl, is a typical student event where you visit as many bars as you can and collect stamps from them. One drink at each bar equals one stamp. At the end, you’ll receive overall badges according to the number of stamps; the more the merrier!
