Open Educational Resources: What Works, What Doesn't? – Participate in the Survey and Make an Impact

The library is investigating various platform solutions for UEF’s open educational resources. We need your input for this study, UEF member! The goal is to find a user-friendly and modern platform for creating, publishing, and using open educational resources. This new platform would gather UEF’s open educational resources in one place for learners to find and use, complementing the existing learning environments.

What’s it about? UEF is committed to promoting open learning. Open educational resources are materials intended for teaching and learning that are freely available online and discoverable by search engines. They enable learning at your own pace, anytime and anywhere. The material can be entirely released for public use (public domain) or shared under a CC license, which specifies the conditions under which the work can be reused. You can explore open educational resources by checking out the UEF library’s open educational resources or the national aoe.fi service.

The survey is open 7–27 October 2024.

UEF International Week

UEF International Mobility Services is hosting International Week this week! During the week, we will have info sessions about exchange studies and other matters related to the topic. The schedule for the remaining week:

All Saints' Day opening hours in the UEF library

Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open on Friday 1st November 2024 8am–1pm, customer service 10am–1pm. On Saturday 2nd November 2024 the libraries are closed. 

The 24/7 self-study facilities of Campus Libraries are open despite these exceptions.

City of Kuopio is donating rose plants

Come and pick up a group rose rhizome for yourself on Thursday 24 October between 14:00 and 16:00 (or as long as there are enough plants) on the grassy area below the rose garden in Valkeisenpuisto Park.

Approximately 300 perennial group rose rhizomes will be distributed. Please take just one with you, so that as many people as possible can enjoy it.

If you would like to have something featured in the Weekly Feed, please send a short (max. 500 characters including spaces), informative description of the event/activity in English to either kv.kuopio@isyy.fi (Kuopio events) or kv.joensuu@isyy.fi (Joensuu events).

Please include at least the following information: date, time, place, admission fee and the event website/link for more information. If you want to include pictures, the optimal size is 270 x 270 px.

Weekly Feed is the English language newsletter of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY). You are receiving this letter on your email because you are a member of ISYY and are studying at Kuopio campus or because you have joined the mailing list yourself.
