Is it difficult to understand what the Representative Council does?

To put it simply, the Student Union could be seen as a nation where students are its citizens. The citizens (students) elect the Parliament (Representative Council), who then elect the Committees and the Government (Executive Board).

By participating in the Representative Council elections, you can best influence the most important matters during your life as a student and take part in decision-making. Don’t miss your chance, become a candidate even if you don’t have any previous experience, and vote for a candidate who best represents the matters important to you.

Nomination of candidates ends on Thursday 5 October at 3 pm!

Heyy ISYY member, PKS will raffle tickets to the Lehtiä Ilosaaressa concert!

The biggest indoors festival of this autumn Lehtiä Ilosaaressa will be held on 6 October in Joensuu Areena! Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö (PKS) wants to support ISYY members and they will raffle in total 30 regular tickets and 10 premium tickets for us, UEF students, to the best party of this autumn!

At the concert there will be performing famous Finnish artists Behm, Arppa, Gettomasa, Karri Koira and Käärijä!

Take part in the raffle no later than 4 October. Good luck to the raffle and have a blast in the concert!

Beer Pong Tournament

The bar is swarming with ping pong balls, beer is flowing like never before and the crowd goes wild!

Kuopio’s BIGGEST and MOST TRADITIONAL Beer Pong event is here again for the 11th time. The hype starts now and culminates finally on October 11th, when the champion of 2023 will be crowned!

The pressure is definitely on. Who swishes their last swish? Who has their eyes on the prize and who will sink first? Who will finally throw the ball that leads to the victory of the entire tournament? You will find this out in KUOPIO BEER PONG TOURNAMENT 2023!

Wine & Paint

Kamrats (ISYY club) is back with another familiar event from the past in the form of Wine & Paint. It’s your chance to enjoy artistic freedom with some snacks and wine at a student friendly price. You can let your creativity loose and forget about your studies for a while. Wine & Paint will be organized at Lukema on the 16th of October from 18.00 onwards. You can continue painting and enjoying the company all the way until 21.00.

The purpose of the event in all its simplicity is to paint and enjoy some wine on the side if you so wish. We also have arranged a guide onsite to help with different methods, so you don’t need any prior knowledge about painting. Alongside that, our guides will arrange small workshops about using different techniques that you can partake in during the evening.

The ticket includes all the painting supplies you need for the evening like acrylic paint, paint brushes and paper. On top of that we serve some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, whichever suits you the best and some snacks. If you want you can also bring your own snacks, drinks and painting supplies.

All this for the meager price of 8 euros! Now is your chance to really let your creativity free, so it’s time to put your shopping pants on and get ready to buy some tickets.

Appro, often translated as bar crawl, is a typical student event where you visit as many bars as you can and collect stamps from them. One drink at each bar equals one stamp. At the end, you’ll receive overall badges according to the number of stamps; the more the merrier!

The shortest way to work - Pondi

Pondi is a new Savilahti talent pond implemented by KPY and Osuma Henkilöstöpalvelut, where the growing Savilahti area is at the heart with thousands of students and jobs. Pondi connects talents and jobs easily, interestingly and flexibly.

Talent, get to know the employers in the area extensively before you go after your dream job. Pondi enables employments of different lengths so that you can get to know different employers or work tasks already during your studies. You will get good employer contacts and diverse working life skills even before you are ready to commit to a longer-term employment relationship.
