But what do these bodies do?
UEF Board is the university's highest decision-making body, which, among other things, approves the budget for faculties and university support activities, monitors the implementation of UEF's strategy and approves the performance agreement between UEF and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
UEF Collegiate Body, among other things, determines the size of the University Board and the length of its term, elects the non-academic members of the University Board and approves the University’s financial statement and annual report.
Faculty Council's functions are, among other things, to process and issue statements on the Faculty’s strategic plan, budget and the Faculty’s internal structure. The Faculty Council also e.g. reviews doctoral dissertations and set syllabuses, degree requirements and admission criteria.
What is a Student Representative?
As a Student Representative in UEF Administation you promote students’ point of view in the decision-making and also bring matters that are important for students into public debate. You also have a right to make proposals and motions in the bodies.
In UEF administration, you can gain valuable experience in administrative and advocacy work and managing matters of common concern. Student Representatives can also earn ECTS’s after the term of office.
Representatives will receive monetary compensation for participating in the meetings of these administrative bodies!
