Purpose of the post series is to help students to better understand their rights and responsibilities and also to remind them about ISYY’s Interest Advocacy Services.
In this post ISYY's Specialist Pekka Koivaara is writing about applying for extensions of the study right. A student has a right to apply for extension of the study right, if the given time is not enough to complete their degree. According to the Finnish University Law, the study right must be extended, if the student has a possibility to complete the studies in a decent time frame. The student’s life situation must be taken into account when extending the study right.
Remember, that you can always ask for help from the Student Union, if you face any challenges in your student life and don't know what to do!
