New student - familiarise yourself with student life with ISYY's Freshman Bingo!

Hi new student! Your first academic year at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) has started and now it is time to get to know what student life is all about. We at the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) want to warmly welcome you to our student community and Student Union’s activities.

ISYY organises a ‘Fuksibingo’ aka Freshman Bingo to kick-start the academic year. Students who complete a bingo row and return the bingo sheet to the ISYY office will receive a ‘ISYY FUKSI’ overall patch. There is a limited amount of the ISYY FUKSI overall badges so be quick! All of those who have completed the bingo can leave their contact information at the ISYY office for the Freshman Bingo Raffle. By entering the raffle you have a chance to win a gift card to a café. The Freshman Bingo helps new students to familiarise themselves with student life and to find new communities.

Rules of the Freshman Bingo

Only new students of UEF who have joined ISYY can participate in the Freshman Bingo during the autumn semester till 28 November 2024. The participants’ goal is to complete tasks in the bingo sheet and mark to the sheet the tasks they have completed. After a student has completed a bingo row, they can come to the ISYY office during opening hours to pick up their overall badge and to join the Freshman Bingo Raffle. The bingo row can be made vertically, horizontally or diagonally (from corner to corner). At the office the student has to show their completed bingo and their valid student card (Frank) to the ISYY staff. The Freshman Bingo can be played till 28 November 2024 3 pm. The overall badges should be picked up also by then. 

The electronic bingo sheet can be downloaded below, or you can pick up a paper version from the ISYY offices. If you download the electronic bingo sheet, you can modify the picture and mark which tasks you have completed and show the completed bingo from your phone screen at the office.

Rules of the Freshman Bingo Raffle 

Everyone who has completed at least one bingo row, can leave their contact info at the ISYY office to enter the Freshman Bingo Raffle. Winners will receive gift cards in Joensuu to café Kauppaneuvoksen kahvila and in Kuopio to café Kaneli (10 gift cards/campus). You must leave your contact info by 28 November 2024 3 pm, after which we will raffle the winners. The winners will be contacted personally via email.

Extended opening hours 2 September – 19 September:

• Mon, Tue, Thu 10–15, Wed 12–16
• Friday 6 September 10–14
• Friday 13 September at 10–14

20 September onwards ISYY office will return to the regular opening hours:

• Mon, Tue, Thu 10–12 and 13–15
• Wednesday 12–16
• Friday: closed
