The Executive Board of the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland (ISYY) chose Joona Rantala as the Student Union’s Coordinator of International Affairs on 23 December 2024.
11 applications were submitted for the position by the deadline, and four applicants were invited for an interview.
Rantala is about to graduate from the Master's degree programme for Expertise in Education and Adult Education, from the University of Eastern Finland.
– It’s great to continue working on international affairs in a familiar university environment. My previous work experience during my studies centered on international project work, and I’m excited to contribute my knowledge to create and uphold a more community-oriented and international student culture. In addition to international affairs, you can approach me in any matter of interest or just come to talk, says Rantala.
Rantala has started their work at the Joensuu campus on 7 January 2025.
