The newsletter published by the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland is back revamped! The newsletter template has been updated in the beginning of 2025 and with that the Student Union officially switches our visual identity to a new one. The old blue colour is changed to a new shade of blue and new colours of purple are added to the colour palette to complement it. The meaning behind the purple colours is to describe an evolving Student Union, changes and the future we are headed towards. Our mascot Haalari-Hemmo (Overall Hemmo) will continue its adventures in these new and refreshed visuals.
Weekly Feed and its Finnish version Wiikko-Ärsyke, will be sent to members of the Student Union during autumn and spring semesters, primarily on Tuesday. Weekly Feed and Wiiko-Ärsyke both have their own campus-specific versions. Weekly Feed is published especially with the international students in mind.
The first new and modernised newsletters will be sent to the members of the Student Union on 4 March 2025.
From Weekly Feed, you will find ISYY’s latest news, information about events on your own campus, and other useful information concerning students. Newsletter compiles together current information regarding interest advocacy, call for applications for student representatives, and essential information from the University of Eastern Finland, and services such as Kela (Kansaneläkelaitos, Social Insurance Institution) and Finnish Student Health Service FSHS.
Members of the Student Union will automatically receive the campus-specific newsletters to their UEF email addresses. Mailing lists will be cleared and updated twice a year after the UEF registration periods have ended for autumn and spring semesters. This ensures that the mailing lists do not include persons who are no longer members of the Student Union, or do not want to receive the newsletter anymore.
You can also join the mailing list of Joensuu Weekly Feed or Kuopio Weekly Feed yourself by using the subscription form. Please follow the instructions given in the form.
The newsletters do not collect any analytics or data of the receivers, and the newsletters are not used for direct marketing.
You can remove yourself from the newsletter’s mailing list by clicking “Remove me from the mailing list of this newsletter” located in the upper banner of the newsletter or via a separate unsubscription page.
NB! Removing yourself from the mailing list is possible after the first modernised newsletters have been sent, and the mailing list where you will be removed from, is created.
Once you have asked to be removed from the mailing list, the newsletter’s data processing system remembers this and you will not be added back to the list automatically. If you change your mind and wish to receive the newsletter again later, you can subscribe to it again via a subscription page.

ISYY accepts material for the newsletters from e.g. UEF, ISYY clubs, student associations and campus associations.
Since the newsletters are the Student Union’s communication channels, we do not publish e.g. paid advertisements or political or religious content excluding activities organised by ISYY clubs, student associations and campus associations. We redirect you to send all job and internship advertisements to the JobTeaser service that is also used by the University of Eastern Finland.
