The Student Union (ISYY) provides various services for the UEF students.
Under the Student Union Act, all undergraduate degree students (completing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the University of Eastern Finland) are required to join the Student Union (ISYY). PhD students and exchange students studying in Finland are welcome to join ISYY, but are not obliged to do so.
You can join the Student Union (ISYY) by paying the membership fee.
STEP 1: Pay your membership fee
The Student Union fee:
65 € for one semester
126 € for the whole academic year 2017–2018
For postgraduate students:
30.50 € for one semester
56 € for the whole academic year 2017–2018 (Please pay the exact amount)

STEP 2: Register your membership
Once you have paid, register your membership by bringing the payment receipt to the UEF Student & Learning Services (Oppari).
Joensuu: Yliopistokatu 2, Aurora Building (Entrance A).
After the payment and registration process has been completed, you can order the student card (15.10 €) online at frank.fi webpage or download the Frank App.

For postgraduate students (both PhD exchange and degree students) who have already completed their Master’s degree, the Student Union (ISYY) membership is voluntary.
The membership fee for postgraduate students is 56 €/full academic year 2017–2018, and 30,50 €/one semester. By paying the membership fee, the postgraduate students are able to access events organised by the Student Union (ISYY) and ESN Joensuu or ESN KISA, our international clubs but also to get local and national discounts at shops and restaurants (please see all the discounts here).
Please note that postgraduate students are not entitled to subsidised student meals, travel discounts or the services provided by Finnish Student Health Service.
